After completing his medical training and Fellowship in Medicine in Pakistan, he completed his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 2011. He completed training at Cairns, Redcliffe, and the Prince Charles hospitals, and attained his Fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General & Acute Medicine and Geriatric Medicine in 2017.
Dr Ahmed is a well-respected and competent general physician and geriatrician who believes in providing holistic patient care. He is delighted to offer his patients prompt, thorough, and personalized care.
In addition to English, Dr Ahmed is fluent in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
His areas of expertise include acute medicine, acute geriatric, diagnosis and management of dementia, complex chronic medical disorders, hospital in the home and aged care medicine.
Dr Ahmed has maintained an active interest in teaching and clinical research and is a member of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), the Australia and New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM), and the Royal College of Physicians UK. In addition, he is an accredited supervisor for advanced trainees of RACP, an examiner for FRACP exams, and a Senior Lecturer at the University
of QLD.
